10 Reasons the Falcons can beat the 49ers (ESPN Insider)
Quote:The 1972 Miami Dolphins won all 17 games they played that year but they could never defeat a perception problem. 2-14 "Experts" pick the Falcons...We're all we got and we're all we need!!! ![]() ![]()

Re: 10 Reasons the Falcons can beat the 49ers (ESPN Insider)
The whole weak schedule thing is stupid logic. Say that Alabama played Savannah State for twelve straight weeks. Does that mean now that they are no longer a good team? At best all you can say is you don't have a read on how good they are.
The opposite at least has some validity, say Alabama had to play themselves twelve straight weeks. Now at say 6-6 are they just an average team? Some would say yes but at least some would give them credit for playing a tough schedule. The media is stupid. |

RE: 10 Reasons the Falcons can beat the 49ers (ESPN Insider)
We've faced teams 4 times with read option type qb's. Cam killed us, but we also didn't have a care in the world for that game. You could see it in our players eyes.
This week is just as big as the last week. Our players mailed it in and it nearly cost us. That will NOT happen this week. SF has another thing coming. They are expecting an easy game with their "jack be nimble" qb, but overall, he is not impressive. His ego is growing and now he is hearing about how weak our D is against running QB's. This game will be interesting.

I don't think we mailed it in. Give Seattle some credit, they are damn good and they finally got it going and figured out how to take advantage of our soft zone. We schemed to stop the run and read option, which we did, and dared Wilson to beat us with his arm, which he damn near did.
The timing of the way things played out makes it look like a near choke job, but in reality it wasn't. It was 2 good football teams that took the full 60 minutes to be decided, just with an unorthodox ebb and flow. |
