Jason Elam’s Job in Jeopardy as Falcons Bring in Kickers for Tryout

Jason ElamThe players have the day off at Flowery Branch as Tuesday is a normal rest-day for the Falcons. But that didn’t stop the team from bringing in four kickers to see if any of them might do a better job than Jason Elam.

Elam has been uncharacteristically off-center this season. He’s connected on 10-of-16 field goal attempts for a career-worst 62.5% field goal percentage. He’s also missed an extra point, an occurrence that’s only happened three other times in his 17-year career.

Steve Hauschka, Sam Swank, Brandon Coutu and Shane Andrus we’re all kicking today for the coaching staff. No news is known at this time whether any made an impression.

Brandon Coutu, an Atlanta native, was drafted in the seventh round of the 2008 draft by Seattle, but has never attempted a kick in the NFL

Steve Hauschka was just cut by the Baltimore Ravens last Wednesday after missing a 36-yard field goal and having an extra point blocked against the Browns. In his first season as a full-time NFL kicker, Hauschka finished with a 69.2% field goal percentage and missed three of his final seven kicks.

Sam Swank was signed earlier this season by Cincinnati, but cut quickly and didn’t make it through OTA’s in Philadelphia.

Shane Andrus was released in early November by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He played in three games, missing his only field goal attempt and converting six extra points.

Don’t forget that Coutu is being mentored by Morten Andersen, the best Falcons kicker ever. Hey, if none of these guys work out, just bring back Mort!

In my opinion you are mistaken. I can defend the position. Write to me in PM.
I recommend to you to look in google.com
Instead of criticising write the variants.
I am sorry, that I interfere, but, in my opinion, there is other way of the decision of a question.
I think, that you are not right. I suggest it to discuss. Write to me in PM, we will communicate.
