After a loss, it always feels like you get kicked in the n$#@z, but lets get real here. We lost to the best QB in the NFL, who has the best coaching staff in the NFL, in a system that’s been in place with pieces added that fit it for 8 or 9 years. The plays, the personnel, the starters and depth, the coaching, the front office……it’s all been a stable organization for close to a decade.
It’s not the end of the world that we went on the road and lost to an AFC team named the New England Patriots folks…..in the scheme of things an AFC road loss is about as meaningless as you can get once it comes time to see who is going to the playoffs.
So far, we are 2-1, we’ve won both of our home games, all of our NFC games played, all of our division games played…… we are in good shape.
Conversely, our system has been being built since last year. Our coachng staff is still learning how to utilize the players, our playbook just got expansed and we aren;t as smoth running the pays as Bardy and comanpy who know the playbook inside out….but ot arrow is up and I trust the coaching staff and pesonnel will get this turned around over the bye week.
What matters is we get tings straightened out by the New Orleans games and we need to ake sure we continue t protect the home turf, beat NFC and division teams as we grow the rest of the year. I mean really, didn’t you expect a few games like this early on??? As much as it sucks, it IS part of the process of growth.

No link. I just heard it on the Coach Smith/Wes/Archer radio show on Dave FM. Not sure if it is a full size or the smaller ones. This is an exclusive that isn’t available through the fathead website. I am going to call around and see about participating locations. Hopefully you can just stop by and tell them you are there just to get it and dont care about buying a new car.
EDIT: I just heard it again and Tony says they are “lifesize” in the promo.

Falling
Fox
John Fox, coach, Panthers. This time, there are no lightning rods around Fox. He’s got a 0-3 team and the blame all falls on the coach. His seat is getting very hot and fans again are starting the rumblings for Bill Cowher.
In the past, Fox has used coordinators or injuries as scapegoats. That’s not going to fly this time around. If the Panthers don’t turn things around immediately, Fox’s days will be numbered.
Turner
Michael Turner, running back, Falcons. Is “The Burner’’ burned out? He was held to 56 yards (on 15 carries) by the Patriots. For the season, Turner is averaging 3.5 yards a carry. That’s a full yard less than he averaged last season.
You have to start worrying if the Falcons might have gone to the well too often last season when they gave Turner 376 carries.
Leftwich
Byron Leftwich, quarterback, Buccaneers. Leftwich’s stint as a starter didn’t even last three full games. He got pulled during the game against the Giants and Josh Johnson has been selected to start against the Redskins.
Leftwich has been dropped to No. 3 with rookie Josh Freeman moving up to the backup role. The problems went way beyond Leftwich. He took the fall for the entire offense and you probably won’t see Leftwich back on the field again as the Bucs go with youth.
Rising
Williams
Gregg Williams, defensive coordinator, Saints. He was hired to bring a legitimate defense to New Orleans. Mission accomplished. When Sunday’s game was close and on the line, the New Orleans defense kept forcing Buffalo to punt.
That kind of thing just didn’t happen for New Orleans last year. But Williams’ aggressive approach has brought pressure for quarterbacks and turnovers. With an offense that already was good, continued improvement by the defense could make the Saints scary.
Thomas
Pierre Thomas, running back, Saints. Turns out Thomas had the flu in the days leading into Sunday’s game. He also was coming back from a knee injury. None of that mattered.
With Mike Bell out with a knee injury, Thomas gave the Saints a very consistent running game.
Jahri Evans, guard, Saints. We’ll make it a sweep for the Saints because they were the only victorious NFC South team this week.
Evans
Evans doesn’t get a lot of attention, but this guy quietly has developed into one of the league’s best guards and he’s the anchor of what’s become a very good offensive line.
That unit hasn’t missed a beat with left tackle Jammal Brown out with an injury and Evans and fellow guard Carl Nicks are big parts of the reason the Saints suddenly are able to run the ball with some consistency.

Correll Buckhalter and Michael Turner have very similar stats. That is the most shocking stat I have seen in a while.

FILE - In this May 2009 photo is shown Jonathan Wilhite(notes) of the New England Patriots NFL football team. Police are investigating a Sunday, Sept. 27, 2009, incident at Wilhite' s North Attleboro, Mass., home that resulted in him suffering a minor injury. He did not play in the Patriots' 26-10 win over the Atlanta Falcons later that day. (AP Photo, File)

We ran quite a few 3-4 sets Sunday. Probably a mixture of Jerry being out and watching the Jets beat down tape.
The result was pretty much the same as the 4-3 though. A total embarrassment against the run and pass. But it was good to see.
Also ran some quarter defenses with 3 down. Hey at least the coaches tried. In the voice of Dan Reeves:
“The players have to execute”
